Abstract:

The Center for Chemical Process Safety, CCPS, has put into motion an effort to develop and operate a fundamentally and technically sound equipment reliability database. It is hoped that the technical advancements, both in data structure relationships as well as technical development and operating work processes developed as part of this effort will lay a sound infrastructure for the process industries to build upon. This paper provides an overview of this broad industry effort and then provides examples of how some companies are already benefiting from the technical work developed to date.
